My Story

My name is Bryna Knight and I am a CD Birth Doula and so much more! Here is a little about me and why I love helping families at this amazing time!

I started my journey knowing I wanted to help people feel their best any why I could. Weather it be helping them keep up a healthy life style or making them laugh and smile when they are down. I had been raised around a daycare and love children of all ages. I have been blessed to have run my own Daycare as I got older. During this time I decided to become a Massage Therapist and went to CNI Collage in Orange, CA to help people feel better after a long day of work or feel great on a pamper day!

After working as a Massage Therapist for two years, I knew I wanted to get my Certificate in Prenatal an Postnatal Massage. At this time My niece and her husband announced they where expecting their first baby! I was so excited. At this time a few close friends also found out they where expecting their first baby. All of them came to me knowing that I had been studying for the past few years about pregnancy and delivery. They asked me "what should I do if I have morning sickness all day?" or asked me "What should I be eating that is best for me and baby?". So, I thought to myself the next step in my career journey is helping them with their pregnancy and delivery of their babies!

Shortly after that I started looking into becoming a Midwife and different methods of Birthing Techniques. I fell in love with the Brandley Method. I had a great instructor that asked if I looked into be coming a "Birth Doula". I hadn't heard of that until she shared it with me. Being a Massage Therapist would benefit me as a Birth Doula because the moms really need their massages with all the changes they go though in the 9 months of pregnancy.

I found a great teacher in Irvine, CA for my Birth Doula training. Our training was held at South Coast Midwifery in Irvine, CA. South Coast Midwifery not only held their training classes there but there also had a Birth Doula Internship which I jumped into as soon as there was a spot. Before I started my internship with South Coast Midwifery my niece had her first daughter with the midwives at South Coast Midwifery and I was able to be her Birth Doula. I fell in love with Doula work right then! In the 6 months following I was doing my internship and I was blessed with 13 clients and a few more bonus clients that help kick off my journey of becoming a CD (DONA) Birth Doula.
